Learn about THREE EXCITING UPDATES at our first INNOVATION SOCIETY meeting of 2007 –
Wednesday, February 7, at 6:00 pm,
at our current SVII headquarters here at 2440 Sand Hill Road
FIRST UPDATE:
As a society of innovators, it is appropriate that we co-create our INNOVATION SOCIETY. To that end, the new $40 fee has been suspended. Instead, bring $10 to cover pizza and drinks, and together we will creatively explore and decide -- as a Society – the key decisions we need to make, like:
- Where do we meet? How often?
- What do we do to support and excite one another at these meetings?
- Do we wish to create an online community to complement our physical gatherings?
- How much will our Society cost, and so how much do we need to collect to cover expenses?
We have our own ideas on all of these questions. But we want to know yours! We also invite you to consider ways you may wish to take a leadership role. Ultimately, our goal is simply to create a rich, compelling and financially sustainable program which feeds and support INNOVATION ADVOCATES in Silicon Valley and beyond. Our belief is that we can inexpensively and enjoyably create that for one another.
SO – Let’s explore this together on Wednesday night!
SECOND UPDATE:
As already announced, we have expanded SVII’s educational offerings into a series of Intensives sessions, designed for four separate audiences: Directors, Executives, Managers, and now…. Engineers. We are very excited about these Intensives. They are designed to share key findings derived from many years of innovation and innovation management experience, while applying these insights to each client group’s particular opportunities and innovation challenges. Our mission is to unleash innovation through better innovation management.

Financially, these Intensives are SVII’s bread-and-butter. They are also YOUR opportunity to make some “mad money”. SVII depends heavily on word of mouth (our own, our clients’, and yoursJ) to let our target audience know what we have to offer. SO – anytime you bring us a colleague or someone in your social or professional network to benefit from one or more of our programs, you receive an appreciation fee. If you “close” the deal, this amounts to $100 or more per referral. If we close, we will share that fee. Your friends and colleagues can participate in this deal too, so pass it on.

From an Innovation standpoint, this one may be the BEST OF ALL.
In response to SVII’s key objective of being an integrator of Innovation and Innovation Management voices, we are in the beginning process of designing what we believe to be the world’s first Open-Source Book – The SVII Open-Source Innovation Management Handbook. This will be a dynamic handbook (both because it will be always changing and because it will be dynamically designed). It will include a collection of Innovation Management perspectives from acknowledged Innovation experts AND many additional perspectives from many additional vantage points.
