Max Sims
Max Sims is an award winning Brazilian born Industrial designer with an extensive computer graphics background. His work has appeared on the covers of ID and rana magazine as well The Architecture of Cyberspace. Max Sims has recently won a 2004 Medical design excellence award and Industrial design excellence award for the Natus Algo 3i with Pemstar Consulting. This screens newborn's hearing to refer the child at the earliest stages of development resulting in significantly fuller life.
He is the principal of the design and strategy consulting firm Technolution. Technolution's clients rangefrom ILM, PDI, EA and Pixar, on the entertainment design front to frogdesign, Inline Audio, Interbrand Schecter, Fitch, and Lunar design in the ID sector. He is also the lead author of the critically acclaimed of Inside Maya5 by New Riders Press. Max Sims has worked for Alias and then think3 where he was the product manager for thinkreal and thinkshape. He was 3d production manager for luuluu.com. Mr Sims is currently Assistant Professor for 3D modeling and rendering at Cogswell Polytechnical College and adjunct faculty Academy of Art University where he has taught for 5 and 12 years respectively.
His theoretical design work was recently exhibited at the SADI gallery in Seoul Korea and Korean Design center. His work has also been exhibited in the Milwaukee and Denver Art Museums. He is currently on the advisory board of Multiverse Networks, and Impactxoft.
Max Sims has lectured extensively on design, computer graphics, writing and nanotechnology since the mid eighties. He has guest lectured at Hochscule fur Gestaltung Pforzheim, l'Ecole d'Art Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, Paris France. CCA San Francisco, University of Illinois Chicago, School of the Art Institute Chicago.He has spoken at the Chicago Anthenaeum Design Museum, IDSA 2004 National Conference, 3 December. He is on the advisory board of the Silicon Valley Innovation Institute and Multiverse Network Inc He is the president and MC for the SF/Bay Area Maya users group and a legend in his own mind 8~{0}}.
