Dr. Bernard Mt. Reynaud
Bernard Mont-Reynaud, a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France, spent much of his career pioneering research and advanced applications. After some initial research at INRIA, France, he went to Stanford University for a PhD in Computer Science, taught CS at UCB and then spent the 1980's at CCRMA (Stanford's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics) where he did interdisciplinary research in audio and music analysis, revolving notably around the visualization of music, modeling human perception, and the deep parallels between vision and hearing. In parallel with research, he also participated in advanced R&D at places such as Sony, Lucasfilm, Xerox PARC, Studer Editech and FXPAL. Alongside his interests in image processing, real-time systems and UI design, he is fascinated with people, and with understanding the 'human factors' that make projects thrive or fall apart.
