SVII Tools

Innovation Advocates need more than meetings, conferences and capabilities building to turn Vision into Value. They also need tools.

As we are firmly in the distributed digital age, tools have become quite varied in their use and delivery, but they still have the same definition:

Tool : a device or implement used to carry out a
particular function or used in an occupation or pursuit

Analog and Digital Tools

Humans do not like to let go of much. We still use on a regular basis books, magazines, newspapers, radio, broadcast television, flyers and in-person engagement to communicate. We also use have digital versions of all of these and more. To this end SVII plans on publishing in both traditional and electronic forms a variety of tools to help innovation advocates create innovation plans and to easily visualize nonlinear innovation situations which relate people, technologies, products and markets to create value.

Project management in the 21st century has not escaped being overhauled. Timelines are far more compressed, scope and directions frequently change before completion, and the complexity of collaboration all demand a new type of management. SVII has developed something called the ISPER Mechanism for streamlining project management.

A more traditional Innovation management handbook is in the works as are several hybrid combinations of analog and digital tools. Stay tuned to this space.

Architecture, Alliances and Collaboration

Architecture can be defined as a carefully designed structure which can be conceptual or physical as well as logical. However it does not have to be linear. The relationships between people, departments, organizations and nations are rarely linear. Significant progress does not have not to be linear or stepwise. Progress can opportunistically take advantage of present conditions that may have been impossible to anticipate, but in todays accelerated world can not only be instantly communicated but extremely rapidly implemented as well. This does not mean chaos has to rule, there are organized ways to frame out sometimes haphazard circumstances.

Kits

Software developers have developer kits (SDK's). Innovators need different types of kits that include the characterization of different types of interfaces than applications and hardware. They are human interfaces to facilitate collaboration both internal and external.
